Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 300 g flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 100 g sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 ½ tsp cardamom
  • 150 g butter, cold
  • 2 eggs
  • 300 g plum jam
  • 1 tbsp rum
  • 4 tbsp milk, maybe less
  • 1 tbsp cocoa
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Total time approx. 2 hours 45 minutes

delicious spicy Christmas cookies

Knead the flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, cardamom, eggs, and butter into a dough and chill for at least 2 hours. Meanwhile, simmer the plum jam with rum until thick. Roll out the chilled dough and cut out circles. Place 1/2 teaspoon of plum jam on each circle and fold it over to form half-circles. Lightly press the ends together with a fork. Brush each cookie with milk and bake in a preheated oven at 160–180°C. Once cooled, dust one half of the cookies with cocoa powder and the other half with powdered sugar.
