Carrot casserole

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 400 g potatoes
  • 400 g carrot(s)
  • 2 large onions
  • some butter
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 1 cup of cream
  • 3 m.-sized eggs
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • Nutmeg, grated
  • 250 g cheese, grated

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Boil the potatoes with their skins on, then peel and slice. Peel the carrots, then thinly slice them. Sauté them in butter with the finely diced onions. After about 5 to 10 minutes, deglaze with water. Now alternate layers of potatoes, carrots, and onions in a large casserole dish. Whisk the cream with the eggs, salt, pepper, and nutmeg, and pour over the potatoes and carrots. Finally, top with cheese. Bake the casserole at about 180°C for 1 hour.
