Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 bunch of chard
  • 200 g lentils
  • 1 lemon(s)
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 liter of water

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes

vegan Lebanese stew

Peel and dice the onion. Then sauté it in olive oil in a large pot. Add the lentils, sauté briefly, then pour in the water and simmer for about an hour. In the meantime, wash the chard thoroughly and cut into bite-sized pieces. Add the chard to the lentils and simmer for about 15 minutes. Season to taste with salt and lemon juice. The soup is originally seasoned with plenty of lemon juice and can be slightly tart. After seasoning, remove from the heat after about 5 minutes and serve with bread.
