  • 250 g puff pastry, frozen
  • 4 tsp honey
  • 2 tsp mustard (Dijon mustard)
  • 1 onion(s), finely diced
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 100 g cheese, grated (Emmental, Parmesan or Gruyère)

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Thaw the puff pastry. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Roll out the dough into a rectangle (approx. 15 x 35 cm). Mix the honey and mustard. Fry the diced onions in the butter until translucent. Brush the puff pastry with the honey-mustard mixture, then scatter the onions and grated cheese on top. Then roll up the dough from one long side and cut into approximately 2 cm thick slices using a sharp knife. Place the slices on a baking sheet lined with baking paper, brush with the beaten egg yolk, and bake on the middle rack for approximately 10-12 minutes until golden brown. Delicious hot or lukewarm. Tip: Top the pastry sheet with finely chopped cooked ham or seasoned minced meat.
