Cheesy potatoes

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg potatoes
  • 500 g cheese, Emmental, grated
  • 4 large onions, peeled and cut into rings
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • ½ bunch chives, wash, finely chop
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

like Käsespätzle without any frills, just with potatoes

Peel, quarter, and slice the potatoes. Cook in salted water until al dente. Alternate a layer of cooked potatoes, then a layer of Emmental cheese in an ovenproof dish. Bake in the oven at 180°C (convection oven) for about 15 minutes. Meanwhile, heat the oil in a pan and fry the onion rings until crispy. Before serving, sprinkle the fried onions and chives over the potatoes and cheese. Season with salt and pepper, if desired.
