Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 200 g butter, room temperature
- 4 eggs
- 150 g sugar
- 125 g ground nuts, e.g. hazelnuts, almonds or similar.
- 200 g flour
- 3 tbsp, heaped cocoa powder
- 1 tsp, leveled cinnamon powder
- ½ bag(s) of baking powder
- 150 g candy(s) (M&M’s) or grated chocolate
- 1 jar morello cherries, drained
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes
for a 26cm springform pan
Preheat the oven to 180°C (top/bottom heat). Beat the warm butter with a hand mixer until fluffy. Add the eggs and sugar and mix in. Then add the nuts, flour, cocoa, cinnamon, and baking powder to the mixture and mix well until a thick batter forms. Fold the M&M’s or grated chocolate into the batter. Be careful if you use colored M&M’s, the batter will turn a funny color. You can also use just brown M&M’s. Pour the batter into a 26cm springform pan, possibly with a tube bottom. Distribute the cherries on the batter; they will sink to the bottom during baking. Bake for 1 hour on the middle rack. Do the skewer test; if nothing sticks to the skewer, the cake is done.
