Chicken Hearts with Leek

The perfect chicken hearts with leek recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 500 g Leek
  • 300 g Chicken hearts
  • 1 piece Onion
  • 2 piece Clove of garlic
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • 250 ml Riesling
  • 1 tsp Steak pepper
  1. Cut the leek into approx. 5 cm pieces, quarter them lengthways and wash. Halve the hearts lengthways and wash well.
  1. Roughly chop the (large) onion. Dice the garlic.
  1. Fry the onions with sugar in olive oil, add tomato paste and stir over medium heat, add the garlic.
  1. Add the leeks and hearts, fry briefly, then deglaze with wine.
  1. Reduce the heat and simmer for about 10 minutes. Sprinkle with the pepper.
  1. Goes well with boiled potatoes or delicious bread.
