Chicken in paprika sauce

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 3 chicken breasts
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tbsp paprika powder
  • 50 g butter or oil
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 small can of tomato paste
  • 20 g flour
  • 2 bell peppers
  • ½ liter chicken broth
  • 1 sprig(s) of thyme
  • 1 bay leaf
  • ½ tsp chili powder, to taste

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes

delicious and quick to make

Wash the chicken breasts, pat dry, cut into two pieces, and season with salt, pepper, and paprika. Peel and dice the onion. Wash, deseed, and slice the bell peppers. Heat the butter in a pan and sear the chicken breasts on all sides. Then remove and keep warm in the oven. Sauté the diced onions in the pan juices until translucent. Add the tomato paste and flour and sauté. Deglaze the onions with the chicken stock. Add the bell pepper strips, thyme sprig, and bay leaf, and bring to a boil. Add the meat and cook for about 20 minutes. Shortly before the end of the cooking time, add the chili powder, remove the bay leaf, and season to taste. Serve with boiled potatoes and baguette.
