Chickpea curry

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 onions
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp cumin, ground
  • 1 tsp paprika powder
  • 1 tsp coriander, ground
  • 880 g chickpeas from the can, drained
  • 440 g tomatoes from the can, with juice
  • 1 tsp spice mix (garam masala)

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Finely slice the onions and crush the garlic. Heat the oil in a saucepan. Fry the garlic and onions over medium heat, stirring until softened. Add the spices, except for the garam masala, to the pan and stir for 1 minute. Now add the chickpeas and tomatoes and stir well. Cover and cook over low heat for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in the garam masala and cook for another 10 minutes.
