Saarland potato dish

Peel and grate the potatoes, then squeeze the pulp well, perhaps in a tea towel. Wash and finely chop the leek. Blend the leek, potatoes, and eggs into a puree and season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Dice the jerked beef, cook it, and mix it with the potato and leek puree. Bake the finished mixture either in a casserole dish in the oven at 200°C for 2 hours (covered for about 1 hour), or roast it in a roasting pan or skillet for 30-50 minutes until crispy. Applesauce is a good accompaniment.
