Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 250 g beans (chili beans) from the can
  • 500 g beef
  • 2 onions
  • 125 g bacon, streaky
  • 3 bell peppers, green and red
  • 1 Pepper, hot
  • 1 small can of tomatoes
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • some salt and pepper
  • Paprika powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

the chili with sliced beef, not minced meat!

Cut the beef into small (1cm) cubes. Dice the bacon. Peel and dice the onions. Halve the bell peppers, remove the ribs and seeds, and cut into small strips or pieces. Finely chop the chili peppers. Heat the oil in a pan, fry the bacon and onion cubes, add the meat, and fry well. Simmer the dish over low heat for about 30 minutes. Add the canned tomatoes, chili peppers, and bell peppers and cook for about 25 minutes. Five minutes before the end of the cooking time, add the beans. Finally, season with salt, chili powder, paprika, and pepper. Be careful, the chili peppers naturally add some spice. Using sliced beef instead of minced beef makes the chili taste much better. In my family, I’m not allowed to make the chili any other way. The quantities can be adjusted as desired, but the delicious flavor remains. For a cozy evening, add red wine and a baguette.
