Ingredients for 10 servings:

  • 1 kg minced meat, mixed (half beef/half pork)
  • 2 cans of pinto beans (alternatively kidney or chili beans), approx. 400 g each
  • 2 cans of chopped tomatoes, approx. 400 g each
  • 2 large onions
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • ¼ tsp rosemary
  • 2 hot chili peppers (crumbled)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • Chili powder, to taste

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 45 minutes

Fry the minced meat until it is not too dark (no need to add fat, 3 tablespoons of water is enough). Add the diced onion and finely chopped garlic and fry briefly. Stir in the spices, tomatoes, and beans. Cook for 1.5 hours, stirring occasionally. Season to taste with salt and chili powder. Tastes best when well marinated (prepare and reheat the day before).
