Chili Mix – Fiery Pods

Spread the love

Chilies are small, colourful, and hot pods that are botanically classified as paprika. In total there are over 25 different types of chilies. Basically, the pods are up to 15 cm long. Depending on the degree of ripeness, the chillies are available in the colors red (ripe), yellow (half-ripe) and green (unripe).

Taste

Chilies have a hot taste.

Use

Due to their spicy taste, chillies can be used in a wide variety of dishes, for example for our Chili con Carne. Wash the pods, cut in half and remove the seeds along with the white partitions. Then chop the pods as finely as possible with a sharp knife. In view of their heat, it is advisable to use chillies sparingly as a spice!

Storage

Fresh chillies can be stored in the vegetable compartment of the refrigerator for about two weeks.
