Chili spaghetti with shrimp or crayfish tails

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500g spaghetti
  • 8 cloves garlic
  • 300 g shrimp or crayfish tails
  • 1 chili pepper(s), finely chopped
  • 10 tbsp chili oil
  • 25 g butter

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Cook spaghetti in salted water (I prefer ‘al dente’), then drain. Peel the garlic cloves and puree or press them through a garlic press. Gently heat 5 tablespoons of chili oil and half the butter in a pan along with the garlic and the finely chopped chili pepper over low heat. Be careful that the garlic doesn’t burn or overcook. Add the shrimp or crayfish tails and sauté slowly, still over low heat. After about 15 minutes, add the spaghetti. Add the remaining 5 tablespoons of chili oil and the remaining butter. Carefully toss the spaghetti with the remaining ingredients and serve. I serve it with a green salad with buttermilk and lemon dressing.
