You will also need a chocolate stick. Finely grind the pistachios in a nut mill, knead them with the marzipan mixture and rum. Set them aside in a plastic bag, otherwise they will dry out quickly. Melt the chocolate and butter in a double boiler. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Combine the flour, baking powder, and cocoa powder. Stir in the eggs, sugar, and yogurt, then alternately stir in the flour mixture and the melted chocolate, one spoon at a time, adding half of the flour, then the chocolate, and then the remaining flour. Grease two different-sized ovenproof glass bowls well. Ideally, they should be 20 cm and 26 cm in diameter. Divide half of the batter between the two pans. Spread the marzipan-pistachio mixture on top and pour in the remaining batter. Bake in the oven on the middle rack for about 45 minutes. Let cool in the pan to lukewarm, then turn out and let cool overnight, but do not refrigerate. Cover the cooled “cakes” with ganache and let them dry. If you need to do it faster or don’t have any ganache to hand, simply cover the lower “mushroom section” with very thinly rolled marzipan. Then spread the white fondant on top. Cover the “mushroom cap” with red fondant and decorate it with white fondant dots. The rest of the decorations are endless. I placed my mushroom on a round wooden board, which I covered all around with light and dark chocolate. I sprinkled some brittle on top to simulate forest floor. I created a pile of wood from halved chocolate rolls. I used a chocolate pen to draw a door and windows on the mushroom itself. I added a few flowers to the walls with green fondant and sugar flowers and placed a butterfly on the roof, and my “gnome house” was complete.
