- 1 small jar of jam or preserves
- 2 packets of vanilla pudding powder
- 2 packs of chocolate pudding powder
- e.g. sugar or vanilla sugar

- 750 g butter
- 2 tbsp spread (nut-nougat cream), or nougat
- e.g. praline(s), cake decoration or fruit for decoration
Instructions
Working time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour
Various flavors available (nougat, strawberry, caramel, chocolate-banana …)
Make a pudding from 2 packets of vanilla pudding powder, a little sugar, and 800 ml of milk (according to the package instructions). Do the same with the chocolate pudding powder (if you like, you can omit the sugar or replace it with vanilla sugar, for example in the vanilla pudding). Allow to cool. Cream the butter until it looks white and creamy. Take half of the butter and mix it with the vanilla pudding and the other half with the chocolate pudding (IMPORTANT: The pudding and butter should be roughly the same temperature. ~25°C works well). Then chill if necessary. When the cream is spreadable, spread about 1-3 cm of chocolate buttercream on the bottom layer, place the middle layer on top, spread with jam, then cover with about 1-3 cm of vanilla buttercream (if the cream is firmer than the jam, simply change the order), place the top layer on top. Leave about 1/3 of the cream left over for each layer. Take about 3-4 tablespoons of the vanilla cream for the decoration and mix the remaining cream with the chocolate butter and hazelnut nougat cream. Use this cream to cover the outside of the cake and then decorate it with vanilla cream and pralines/sprinkles, etc. as desired. Keep the cake cool (refrigerator) until ready to serve. Lower-calorie version: Low-fat milk, reduced-calorie butter, sugar-free pudding. Works and tastes just as good. Vegan version: Soy milk (or soy rice milk, almond milk), margarine (or Alsan), and vegan cake base also worked. Different flavor variations are possible (there are now many choices of ready-made pudding mixes) or a 2-in-1 cake (e.g., half chocolate, half strawberry). This is also a real eye-catcher. Fruity buttercream cake is not as “powerful.”
