Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 500 g chicken liver(s)
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 3 tbsp goose fat (or other poultry fat), alternatively oil
- 2 eggs, hard-boiled
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp pepper
- 3 tbsp oil
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 25 minutes
Jewish family recipe
Brown the onions in oil, remove, and fry the kosher liver in the remaining fat for about 5 minutes. Mince the browned onions, liver, and eggs (or blend them). Season with salt and pepper. Refrigerate. Serve on Shabbat challah or other bread.
