Ingredients for 8 servings:

  • 1 kg flour
  • ½ kg honey
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup(s) almond(s), coarsely ground
  • 1 cup(s) dried fruit, chopped
  • 3 oranges, only the grated peel
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp clove(s)
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Briefly toast coarsely chopped almonds in a dry pan and set aside. Combine flour, sugar, cinnamon, clove powder, grated orange peel, and baking powder. Form a well in the center. Add eggs, honey, butter, fruit, and almonds. Knead everything into a dough and let it rest for 30 minutes. Then roll out to about 0.5 cm thick, cut out any shapes you like, and bake on a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet for 10 minutes at 180°C.
