Cinnamon balls

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 120 g butter or margarine
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 80 g powdered sugar
  • 250 g spelt flour
  • 1 tsp pure tartar baking powder
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • n. B. Chocolate coating, dark

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest period approx. 1 day; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 1 day 30 minutes

Allow the butter or margarine to come to room temperature, then add the egg, salt, vanilla sugar, and powdered sugar. Combine the spelt flour, cream of tartar, and cinnamon, and stir into the butter and sugar mixture. Let the dough rest for at least an hour in a cool place—preferably overnight in the refrigerator. The next day, shape the dough into walnut-sized balls, place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper, press down lightly, and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 10 minutes. Melt the chocolate coating in a water bath and dip the cooled cinnamon balls, flat-side down, into the chocolate. If you like, you can also decorate the tops with the remaining chocolate coating.
