Citric Acid: 8 Ways to Use in Life

Citric acid is an odorless white powder with a slightly sour taste. This substance is considered one of the most common food additives, it is used by chefs, beauticians, and housewives who do not like to use “chemicals”.

Citric acid – domestic use

Kettle with scale

If your kettle has a lot of limescale, fill it up with water and pour in 2 tablespoons of lemon powder. Boil the kettle for 10 minutes, then leave it for 30 minutes. In case there is too much scale, you should boil it again. Then pour out the solution, pour in clean water, turn on the kettle again, then drain the water with the remaining scale and that’s it – the kettle is clean.

Microwave

Take a deep bowl, pour 200 ml of water into it, and add 1 tsp of citric acid. Put the bowl in the microwave and turn it on for 15 minutes. At the expiration of the specified time, wipe the walls of the oven with a damp cloth – after the lemon solution the dirt will “come off” faster.

Wine stains

Pour 100 ml of water into a spray bottle and add 1 tbsp. of citric acid. Apply the solution to the stain and rub it with a sponge. Leave it for 5-10 minutes, if the weather is sunny take it outside. Rinse clothes and dry them naturally.

Frying pan soot and grease

Find a large saucepan, pour 2 liters of water into it, and dissolve 2 tbsp of citric acid. Place on the fire put the pan inside the pan and boil for 15 minutes. Then use a wooden spatula to remove the carbon and fat.

Silver Jewelry

If your silver jewelry has lost its lovely look, prepare a solution of citric acid, 10 to 15 grams of powder per 500 ml of water. Then soak the jewelry for about 30 minutes. You can remove ingrained dirt by boiling the jewelry in the solution for 10-15 minutes. Then take out the jewelry, rinse under running water, and wipe with a rag.

Facial masks

Use any of the masks described below, you can not more than 2-3 times a week.

For acne: take a tomato, peel and puree it, and mix it with 1 tsp. citric acid and 1 tsp. mint. Add 0.5 tsp. of beer yeast and 2 tsp. of ground herring gruel. Mix, apply to face, leave on face for 15 minutes, and rinse off with cool water.

For black spots: dilute 1 tsp. the citric acid in a small amount of water, add 2 tsp. honey and apply to the face. Leave on for 20 minutes, and rinse with cool water.

Dissolve 1 tbsp of citric acid in 200 ml of water and rinse your hair with the solution each time after washing the head. Such cosmetic know-how will strengthen the hair, regulate the sebaceous glands and get rid of dandruff if there is any.

The fight against excess weight

Nutritionists believe that if you take 1 liter of pure drinking water, dissolve 1 pinch of citric acid in it, and regularly consume such a drink between meals, you will be able to reduce the number of portions. This is because citric acid reduces appetite and improves digestion.
