Cod oven dumplings

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 250 g cod fillet(s) (including pollock)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • herbal salt
  • 1 roll
  • 1 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 100 g cooked ham
  • 250 g leaf spinach, frozen
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Pepper, freshly ground
  • 1 pinch of nutmeg
  • 80 ml milk
  • 80 g sour cream
  • 2 eggs
  • 75 g cheese, grated

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

Wash the fish fillet, pat dry, and cut into pieces. Then drizzle with lemon juice, season with salt, and let rest, covered, for 30 minutes. Cut the bread roll into thin slices. Peel the onion, finely dice it with the ham, and sauté it with the spinach in heated oil. Season the spinach mixture with salt, pepper, and nutmeg and layer it in a casserole dish with the fish fillet and bread slices. Whisk together the milk, sour cream, and eggs and season with salt and pepper. Spread the topping over the casserole, sprinkle with cheese, and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 40 minutes until golden brown.
