Cookies: Chocolate Quince Stars

The perfect cookies: chocolate quince stars recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

Dough:

  • 150 g Sifted powdered sugar
  • 200 g Sifted flour
  • 50 g Food starch
  • 50 g Cocoa
  • 3 Egg yolk (M)
  • 200 g Cold butter – diced

Filling:

  • 200 g Quittengelee
  • 1 tsp Lemon juice

Decoration:

  • Powdered sugar

dough

  1. Sift the icing sugar, flour, cocoa and cornstarch into the bowl of the food processor.
  2. Add the cold butter and egg yolk and work everything into a kneading dough. Shape into a ball and refrigerate for 30 minutes in cling film.
  3. Roll out the dough about 3 mm thick and cut out stars with a larger shape. Place all the stars on baking sheets lined with baking paper and only then poke a small star out of the middle of half of the stars. Only then on the sheet, because the filigree stars would then not be able to be placed on the sheet as a whole.
  4. Bake in a preheated oven at 170 ° C top / bottom heat for 12 minutes.

Decoration & filling

  1. It is best to place the filigree stars on a piece of baking paper and dust with icing sugar.
  2. For the filling, mix the quince jelly with the lemon juice and spread over the whole chocolate star. I put a generous blob of it in the center of the star and pulled the jelly into the star corners with the tip of the spoon.
  3. And then the filigree star dusted with powdered sugar is placed on top.
