Cooking sushi rice in the microwave

Ingredients for 5 servings:

  • 500 g sushi rice
  • 700 ml water
  • Vinegar (sushi vinegar)

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Rinse the rice in a sieve, mix it with the water, cover, and cook in the microwave on maximum power for 10-15 minutes. Then cover with a kitchen towel and let it swell for 10 minutes. Season with sushi vinegar and let the rice cool. Then serve. Tip: For a smaller serving for two people, you can also mix 250 grams of rice with 350 ml of water.
