  • 250 g bacon, diced
  • 125 g butter
  • 2 kg chicken pieces
  • 2 large onions, chopped
  • 500 g sliced ​​mushrooms
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1 cup red wine
  • 1 bay leaf
  • Salt

Chicken in red wine sauce

Fry the diced bacon in butter until browned, then remove from the pan. Fry the chicken pieces in the bacon fat until golden brown, then remove from the pan. Sauté the onions and mushrooms. Return the chicken and bacon to the pan; add the chicken stock, garlic, red wine, and bay leaf, and simmer uncovered for about 1 hour. Season with salt to taste. This dish is best served with boiled potatoes.
