American finger food – sausages fried in corn batter

Blend all ingredients, except the sausages, in a mixing bowl with a mixer until a smooth, thick batter forms. Transfer the batter to a tall, narrow glass jar. Add frying oil to a saucepan and heat. The perfect temperature is reached when a wooden spoon is pressed against the bottom of the pan and bubbles rise to the top. In the meantime, drain the sausages, dry them with a paper towel, cut them in half, and dust them with flour to help the batter stick. Thread the floured sausages onto long skewers and place them in the glass jar with the batter until the sausages are evenly coated, turning slightly if necessary to avoid “noses.” Carefully hold the skewer in the oil for about 3 minutes, rotating it slightly at the beginning, until the batter is golden brown. Later, when the oil is even hotter, reduce the cooking time to 1-2 minutes. These go perfectly with any kind of dip.
