Creamy tomato butter with cream cheese

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 2 packs of cream cheese
  • 1 pack of butter
  • ½ tube(s) tomato paste or fresh tomatoes
  • 1 large onion(s)
  • 1 lemon(s)
  • 1 clove(s) garlic
  • some salt and pepper
  • ½ bunch chives

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Finely chop the onion, garlic, and chives and squeeze the lemon juice. Combine these ingredients in a bowl with the butter and cream cheese. Add tomato puree and mix well. (I prefer to use tomato puree, but you can also add fresh tomatoes during tomato season.) Finally, add a little salt and pepper. Taste for any lemon juice, tomato puree, or salt and pepper needed. Tomato butter goes perfectly with grilled meat, baguettes, or bread. I always use a food processor for this recipe, as it’s important that everything is well blended and there are no lumps of butter. You can also use softened butter and mix everything thoroughly by hand. You can also use half the ingredients, but always use a 2:1 cream cheese to butter ratio.
