crumbly fried potatoes

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 4 m.-sized potatoes, new
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 3 tbsp oil (red palm oil)
  • some caraway seeds, freshly ground
  • herbal salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

made from new raw potatoes fried in red palm oil

Brush the potatoes thoroughly (do not peel) and slice them thinly. Peel the onion and slice it into not-so-thin half rings. Heat 1 tablespoon of palm oil in a pan and add just enough potato slices so that they don’t overlap. Fry the potato slices for about 2-3 minutes on each side over medium heat. Remove the potatoes from the pan and continue with the next portion until all the potatoes are fried, adding more palm oil every now and then. After the last potatoes have been fried and removed from the pan, add the half onion rings and fry them briefly. Then add all the potatoes to the pan with the onions. Season with caraway and herb salt and fry everything until crispy. I like to eat it with pickles and ketchup.
