Instructions for cutting a mango hedgehog
So that the mango can be easily cut into a hedgehog, it should not be too firm, but also not overripe. Overripe mangoes are too mushy to process, and an unripe mango should not be eaten. The fruit is perfect when it is already ripe but not too soft.
- Wash and dry the mango. Cut the fruit lengthwise along the pit.
- Remove the core by separating it from the pulp with the knife in the same way.
- Get a small knife. Cut the mango lengthwise into 0.5 cm wide strips. Be careful not to cut the shell.
- Then cut the flesh of the fruit across the lengthwise strips into 0.5-centimeter wide strips.
- Turn the shell inside out so the cut cubes are facing out. It is best to lay out the mango hedgehog on a decorative plate.
