Czech sauerkraut soup

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 40 g fat (pork fat)
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 liter beef broth
  • 300 g sauerkraut
  • 60 g bacon, streaky
  • 100 g bratwurst, cut into small pieces or smoked meat
  • Paprika powder
  • salt and pepper
  • lemon juice
  • sour cream

Instructions

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Zelnacka

Melt the fat and cook the diced onion until translucent. Add the sauerkraut and fry briefly. Pour in the broth and simmer. Fry the diced bacon in a pan, add the sausage pieces, and fry. Sprinkle with a little paprika and quickly add everything to the soup. Season to taste and, if desired, add a dollop of sour cream to each bowl. Serve very hot. Serves 4 as a starter soup.
