- 500 g potatoes
- 3 onions
- salt and pepper
- oil

Mashed potatoes with lots of onions – from my childhood!
Wash, peel, and dice the potatoes. Peel and slice the onions. Heat oil in a pan and fry the onions until nicely browned. Add the potatoes and season with salt and pepper. Pour in water until just covered and simmer. Mash with a potato masher until smooth and season to taste. We always serve this with fried herring or a fried egg and beetroot.
