- 250 g date(s), fresh
- 1 vanilla pod(s)
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 200 ml rum, white

Pit the dates and layer them in a boiled jar. Split and slit the vanilla pod, then place it between the dates. Sprinkle the sugar over the dates and pour in the white rum. Close the jar and shake gently to mix the contents. Let the dates steep at room temperature for about 2 weeks, shaking frequently during this time to dissolve the sugar. Shelf life: 4–6 weeks. The rum-infused dates are delicious with tea, ice cream, or in fruit salads.
