Delicious gratin sauce with turmeric

Ingredients for 5 servings:

  • 50 g butter
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 200 ml milk
  • 200 ml whipped cream or Cremefine
  • 100 g cheese (Emmental or Gouda), diced
  • 2 tbsp Parmesan, grated
  • 1 tsp, leveled turmeric
  • 1 tsp, leveled nutmeg
  • n. B. Salt and pepper, black, from the mill
  • 3 tbsp breadcrumbs

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

for vegetable gratins or pasta casseroles

The specified amount is sufficient for approximately 1 kg of vegetables or 500 g of pasta. This gratin sauce can be used for all kinds of casseroles and gratins, e.g. potato gratin, pasta, ham and pea casserole. Melt the butter in a saucepan, dust with flour, let it brown briefly, then deglaze with milk and cream and bring to a boil. Stir in the cheese and seasonings and melt over low heat, stirring constantly. Once the cheese has completely melted, season again to taste and pour over the cooked pasta or steamed vegetables. Sprinkle with breadcrumbs and bake until crispy.
