Doctor Names the Deadly Danger of Seeds

Seeds are a very high-calorie product and can lead to an exacerbation of stomach diseases. Endocrinologist Tetiana Bocharova explained the risks of frequent consumption of sunflower seeds and named the deadly danger of fried seeds.

According to the expert, sunflower seeds become a source of carcinogens, i.e. substances that can cause the development of malignant and benign tumors when exposed to the body, so it is better to eat this product raw.

According to the doctor, the seeds are very high in calories, and it is highly discouraged to eat them fried. “One hundred grams is 550 calories, which is equivalent to a bar of chocolate. The problem is that they are not perceived as a complete meal, and contribute to weight gain,” Bocharova explained.

She dispelled the myth that eating seeds causes appendicitis. But, according to the doctor, in a person with an ulcer and gastritis, regular consumption of this product can provoke an exacerbation of the disease.

The doctor recommended eating sunflower seeds raw and in small quantities (30 grams per day). The seeds contain a lot of fiber and vitamins B, A, and E, as well as magnesium, which is necessary for the functioning of the heart and nervous system, the expert reminded.
