According to the doctor, all food should be stored in a thermal bag when outdoors. “You shouldn’t take any creamy foods, salads, or mayonnaise with you when you go outdoors. All of this will be 100% spoiled by the end of the day, and a person may not even feel it. Meat products should be bought in certified places, especially if it is cooked barbecue or some other meat products because they pose a threat of salmonellosis,” said Davydov.

He noted that it is better to refrain from fermented milk products, especially if they are consumed out of date or out of storage conditions, for example, if the product is kept outdoors in a warm room for a long time.

“Water from open sources should not be drunk, no matter how clean it may seem, it is always a certain threat of getting very severe poisoning. The water should be either bottled or filtered, but as a last resort, boiled, although boiled water does not eliminate the threat of poisoning, or exposure to heavy metal salts, or organic chemicals contained in the water. If a person goes on a long hike in the countryside and realizes that he or she may not have bottled water for a long time, he or she can use a water filter,” said Davydov.
