Experience has shown that if you drink a lot of water, it can be easier to lose weight. Why this is so has not yet been scientifically proven. Some studies have found that drinking a glass or two of water before meals appears to help speed weight loss as part of a diet. Other research suggests that water increases satiety, at least in older people. However, there are currently no meaningful long-term studies with enough participants to draw general conclusions.
Nevertheless, it is healthy to quench your thirst primarily with water as it contains no calories. Healthy people should consume at least 1.5 liters of liquid every day as part of a balanced diet. In addition to water, unsweetened fruit and herbal teas are particularly suitable. Incidentally, it is very difficult to drink too much water. It only becomes dangerous from about 10 liters a day.
If you want to lose weight, you should eat a balanced, varied, and varied diet and satisfy your hunger primarily with grain products, potatoes, vegetables, and fruit as well as low-fat dairy products. Meat or fish can be on the menu two to three times a week. Overweight people should be particularly sparing with fat and sugar. Drinking plenty of water can help, especially when replacing high-calorie beverages like sodas, energy drinks, and fruit juices.
