Drunken sausages

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 8 sausages, fresh, coarse
  • 4 cups of beer
  • 2 tbsp black peppercorns

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Suitable for grill and pan

Pierce the skin of the raw sausages with a toothpick. Bring the sausages, beer, and peppercorns to a boil in a saucepan. Cover the pan and let it simmer over low heat for about 10 minutes. Drain the liquid and grill or pan-fry the sausages as usual. Tip: If you prefer a spicy flavor, use dark beer (e.g., Köstritzer) to marinate the sausages. Milder-minded people prefer a mildly hopped, light-colored beer. All varieties—from Alt to Kölsch—are equally suitable for drinking.
