Ingredients

  • 200 g White bread (cut into cubes)
  • 400 ml Milk
  • 200 g Raisins
  • 75 g Sugar
  • 3 tbsp Flour
  • 0,5 packet Baking powder
  • 1 tbsp Ginger bread spice
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 Egg (size L)
  • 50 g Butter (liquid)
  • Brown sugar for sprinkling

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 175 ° C. Grease a suitable baking dish. Put aside
  • Put the bread in a large bowl. Pour the milk over it and let it soak for about 10 minutes. Stir every now and then so that the top, still dry, bread cubes get into the milk. Then stir everything together again. Add the raisins and sugar and stir well. Add the flour, baking powder, gingerbread spice and cinnamon as well as the egg and liquid butter and stir in. Pour into the baking dish. If there is enough time, it is best to let the whole thing stand for another 10-15 minutes and let it soak. Then sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over it.
  • Bake for 1 hours at 175 ° C. Then increase the oven temperature to 200 ° C and bake for another 10-15 minutes until the pudding is golden brown. Every now and then, to be on the safe side, do the chopsticks / cooking test.
  • Serve warm with vanilla sauce or whipped cream. Also delicious when eaten cold!
