English Ginger Biscuits

The perfect english ginger biscuits recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 225 g Flour
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 50 g Ground almonds
  • 1 tsp Ground ginger
  • 1 tsp Ground cinnamon
  • 20 g Grated ginger
  • 125 g Sugar
  • 125 g Margarine
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 Egg yolk
  • Flaked almonds
  1. Mix the flour, salt, almonds, ginger powder, cinnamon, grated ginger and sugar, add the margarine and mix everything roughly.
  2. Beat the egg and add to the ingredients, mix roughly again and then knead quickly.
  3. Cover and chill the dough (approx. 30 min)
  4. Roll out the dough with a little flour and cut out as desired.
  5. Place the biscuits on a parchment-lined baking sheet and brush with egg yolk. Garnish with flaked almonds (or with candied cherries / candied ginger).
  6. Bake at 200 degrees for about 8 minutes
