Erika’s Fried Hungarian Liver / Chicken Liver
The perfect erika’s fried hungarian liver / chicken liver recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 500 g Chicken liver
- 2 piece Fresh onion
- 2 piece Clove of garlic
- 1 Knife point Cayenne pepper
- Pepper from the grinder
- Salt
- Oil
Dishes history
- A very traditional Hungarian dish for us, easy and quick to prepare but very tasty. As a non-offal lover, I was convinced of this family recipe by my wife.
preparation
- Wash the liver pieces and remove excess fat. Peel, halve and slice the onion, peel the garlic.

- Heat the oil in a pan, roast the onions until golden brown.
- Sear the liver pieces and squeeze in the garlic, stir well.
- Pepper and reduce the heat. Simmer for about 15 minutes on medium heat.
- Finally, season with salt (otherwise the liver will become hard). Possibly add a little water for more gravy.
Serving suggestion
- Serve with boiled potatoes and pickles.
