scary candy to scare, give away or snack on yourself, makes 30 pieces

First, prepare the actual eyeballs: Finely crumble the cake in a bowl, melt the light chocolate, and mix the dough crumbs with the chocolate, water, and flavoring (if desired), then knead thoroughly. Of course, you can also use alcohol instead of the flavoring and water—rum, or any liqueur or fruit water. However, children shouldn’t eat the eyeballs! Then, chill the dough slightly so they can be shaped more easily. Caution: Don’t refrigerate it for too long, or the mixture will become too solid and impossible to shape! Using a teaspoon, scoop out portions of the dough, roll them into balls, and then flatten them lightly to approximate the shape of the eyes. Make about 30 eyeballs this way and refrigerate. Next, melt the white chocolate coating and dip the eyeballs in it. Immediately after coating with chocolate coating, place the pupils in the shape of the colored chocolate buttons on each eye and press them down gently. Once all the candy balls have been processed in this way, carefully melt the dark chocolate. Then prepare a freezer bag as follows: Cut off a tiny piece from one of the corners to create a small hole in the bag. Pour chocolate into this corner of the freezer bag to create a nozzle. Now carefully dab a small dollop of melted chocolate onto each chocolate bean. Mix powdered sugar with a little water until smooth, then add food coloring until the desired color is achieved (you should achieve a beautiful red). Prepare another freezer bag as a nozzle, pour in the powdered sugar mixture, and carefully pipe veins onto the eyeballs. Your spooky Halloween candy is now ready – just let it dry and decorate it spookily, or fill each one individually into foil bags as a giveaway.
