Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g savoy cabbage
  • 250 g minced meat
  • 1 roll
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 2 tsp mustard
  • 40 g margarine
  • 3 tomatoes
  • 1 large onion(s)
  • 2 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • ½ bunch parsley, chopped
  • some salt and pepper
  • some fat for the mold

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 50 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes

Trim the savoy cabbage, remove the stalks, and simmer in lightly salted water for 15 minutes. Drain, loosen eight large leaves, and trim the stalks. Finely chop the rest. Combine the chopped savoy cabbage with the soaked, squeezed-out bread roll, the minced meat, mustard, salt, pepper, egg, and finely chopped onion to form a dough and season generously. Grease an ovenproof dish well and layer the savoy cabbage leaves and meat mixture in the dish. Peel and slice the tomatoes. Peel the onion and slice into rings. Top the casserole with the cabbage leaves and sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Then add knobs of butter and bake in a preheated oven at 225 degrees Celsius for about 35 minutes. Finely chop the parsley and sprinkle it over the finished casserole. Serve with tomato sauce and roasted potatoes.
