Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1,000 g bacon, fat
  • 2 apples, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp marjoram
  • 4 onions, finely chopped
  • Salt and pepper, from the mill
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 bunch of chives, cut into fine rolls
  • 1 bunch parsley, finely chopped

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Remove the rind from the pork bacon, cut it into 1 cm cubes, and fry it in a hot pan. When the browned cracklings appear in the rendered fat, add the onions and apples and fry until golden brown. Remove the fat from the heat and season with marjoram, salt, pepper, and sugar. Before it solidifies, stir in the chives and parsley. Transfer to a stoneware pot or preserving jars and refrigerate to cool.
