Feta Rods

The perfect feta rods recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 30 g Finely chopped parsley
  • 150 g Butter
  • 500 g Crumbled feta
  • 2 Pc. Eggs
  • 1 package Filo pastry sheets
  • 4 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 Cup Milk
  • 1 Cup Breadcrumbs
  1. Melt 1,120 g butter.
  2. Mix the parsley with the crumbled feta in a bowl.
  3. Whisk the two eggs and mix with the feta.
  4. Spread out the filo dough.
  5. Brush quickly sheet by sheet with the melted butter. You have to work quickly, otherwise the filo dough will quickly become too dry and break. So butter, fill and then continue with the next sheet, sheet by sheet.
  6. Now place about 1 tbsp feta filling on the edge, leaving some space around the edges to fold in the edges.
  7. Then quickly roll up the dough with the filling.
  8. Now first pull the feta sticks through the milk.
  9. Then roll in the breadcrumbs.
  10. Mix the remaining butter and olive oil, put in a pan, heat.
  11. Now gently fry the breaded feta sticks on all sides until golden brown.
  12. Let “degrease” on kitchen paper.
  13. A wonderful starter, with a little salad and the world is all right.
