simple, good savory pastries

Combine margarine, cheese (e.g., grated Gouda or drained cream cheese), flour, egg, salt, and baking powder. Roll out the dough to about 1 cm thick. Using a small glass, cut out round shapes. Place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Brush with egg yolk, sprinkle with sesame or caraway seeds, and bake at 180 degrees Celsius for about 15 minutes until golden brown. The pogacice taste best fresh and pair well with herb quark dip and wine. These pogacice can also be mixed with fresh herbs or tomato paste, which adds a lovely splash of color.
