Fish Soup Friesland

The perfect fish soup friesland recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 1 Carrot
  • 2 Onions
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • 250 g Potato
  • 2 tsp Fennel seeds
  • 50 g Celery
  • 1,5 tbsp Oil
  • 1,2 liter Fish stock
  • 6 Fresh prawns
  • 300 g Cod fillet
  • 100 g Halibut fillet
  • 100 g Leek
  • 2 tsp Sage dried
  • 1 tsp Dried tarragon
  • 2 tbsp Parsley
  • 2 Tomatoes
  • 300 ml Semi-Dry white wine
  • 0,5 tsp Sea-Salt
  • Pepper from the grinder
  1. Peel the onion and garlic and dice them. Peel and dice potatoes and carrots or cut into fine strips. Clean the celery and cut into fine cubes.
  2. Heat the oil in a large saucepan and sauté the onions and garlic in it. Then add the potatoes and pour on the stock. Let simmer for 5 minutes. Now add the remaining vegetables and simmer for 10 minutes. Put the spices in a tea filter and add to the soup and let it boil.
  3. Now cut the fish into bite-sized pieces and add to the broth with the prawns. Let the fish simmer over a low heat. Now add the white wine.
  4. Chop the parsley and some green from the celery, peel the seeds and cut the pulp into fine strips, cut the leek into fine rings, add everything to the soup. Now season lightly with salt and pepper.
