Flatulence after kohlrabi – these are the reasons
Kohlrabi, like cabbage in general, is known for its digestive properties. Kohlrabi is therefore a very health-promoting vegetable. Despite this, many people experience gas and bloating after eating. Here we tell you what triggers it.
- On the one hand, the cabbage variety contains a high proportion of fiber, which is very healthy.
- Furthermore, like legumes, kohlrabi contains a large amount of the carbohydrate raffinose.
- During digestion, hydrogen, methane gas, and carbon dioxide are produced – the trigger for the bloated stomach. Stomach pain can also occur, which only subsides when the gases are released.
- If you eat too quickly, this can also be the cause of a bloated stomach. Take your time and chew each bite thoroughly.
