Instructions
Working time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 10 hours; Total time approx. 11 hours 20 minutes
First, preheat the oven to 200°C and line a baking sheet with baking paper. Now, make the light sponge cake: Separate the eggs, beat the egg whites with the salt until stiff, and set aside. Beat the egg yolks with 3 tablespoons of hot water and the sugar until creamy. Mix the egg whites into the egg yolk mixture. Mix the flour with the baking powder and sift it onto the batter. Gently mix, but do not stir. Place the finished batter onto the baking sheet and bake for about 8 minutes. Now, make the dark batter: Repeat the same procedure as for the light batter. Add the cocoa powder to the baking powder and flour mixture and sift it over the batter. When the light batter is ready, set it aside to cool. Now, bake the dark batter. Both batters must be completely cooled. In the meantime, make the filling: Mix the quark and sugar, then mash a banana until finely chopped and fold it into the mixture. Soak the gelatin, dissolve it, and fold it into the mixture. Place in the fridge for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Whip the cream until stiff peaks form and fold into the mixture. Cut the remaining bananas into small pieces and add to the mixture. Cut out about 10 hexagons from the light sponge cake (a few more depending on the size of the bowl) and 6 pentagons from the dark sponge cake. You also need to cut a circle the size of the bowl from the dark sponge cake. Line a round bowl (or a special charlotte bowl) with cling film and place a pentagon in the middle, then place the hexagons around it until you can see the shape of a football. Press everything down a little and fill any holes with light sponge cake. Pour the quark mixture into the bowl, tap the bowl lightly on the table and finish with the dark sponge cake circle. Cover and leave to rest in the fridge overnight. Turn out onto a plate and slowly peel off the film. Brush the dome with a little warm jam (jelly) -> done, the game can begin.
