Freeze wild garlic – that’s how it works
Before you freeze the wild garlic, wash the herbs thoroughly and let them dry on a kitchen towel.
- Then remove the stalks of the leaves and chop them up.
- Then distribute the wild garlic in freezer bags or appropriate freezer cans and seal them well.
- Finally, put the kitchen herbs in the freezer.
Prepare wild garlic for eating and freeze
First, prepare the kitchen herbs again by washing, drying, and chopping them.
- To freeze the wild garlic ready for use, first puree the herbs. Then fill the pureed food into an ice cube mold.
- Alternatively, chop the wild garlic leaves and then place them in an ice cube mold with water.
- To make wild garlic butter, mix the pureed wild garlic with a little butter. Then put the herb butter in an ice cube mold and freeze it. Later, you can serve portions of wild garlic butter with your meal.
- For wild garlic pesto, mix the pureed herbs with oil and some sea salt. The pesto is frozen in small glasses or in ice cube molds.
- Tip: If you put the chopped leaves in a small sealable jar and cover the herbs well with oil, the wild garlic will also keep for a few months.
