Fresh Juice: Fashionable And Useful, And Most Importantly – Right!

Fresh juice is freshly squeezed juice not only from fruits and vegetables but also from berries and various herbs and vegetables. Undoubtedly, fresh juices are very healthy because they contain many vitamins and minerals, and if the juice is pulpy, it contains fiber and pectin, which help regulate the digestive process.

For fresh juices to be beneficial, they need to be prepared and consumed properly and in moderation.

Since fresh juices can oxidize and lose their beneficial properties when exposed to air, it is clear that they should be consumed immediately after squeezing.

You should start drinking fresh juices in small quantities, starting from 50 ml, and dilute them with water in a 1:1 ratio. For better absorption of carotene in the body, add 50 g of vegetable oil to red, yellow, and orange fruit juices, or eat a drink with something fatty. Other fresh juices are recommended to be diluted with apple juice in a 1:2 ratio.

One more thing to remember: fresh juices contain a large amount of organic acid. First of all, this applies to fruits and berries. These acids have a rather negative effect on our digestive system and can provoke a choleretic effect. Fresh juices are not recommended for people with gastroenterological diseases and young children, especially those under one year of age. Acidic juices such as lemon, apple, currant, and cranberry are contraindicated in case of peptic ulcer and exacerbations of gastritis or pancreatitis. Juices from these fruits and berries contain many compounds that can increase acidity and cause heartburn.

Fresh juices should not be drunk during or immediately after a meal. Sugar, which is found in large quantities in fruits, promotes fermentation and can cause stomach discomfort. It is most beneficial to drink juices at least an hour after a meal or between meals. Nutritionists do not recommend drinking juices for breakfast on an empty stomach.

Before preparing fresh juice, the products should be thoroughly washed (it is better to do this under running water). And if you leave them in water for 10-15 minutes, a small number of nitrates and pesticides will come out of them. It should be remembered that the longer the fresh juice is stored in the refrigerator, the fewer vitamins remain, so you need to prepare as much as you can drink at one time. The method of preparing fresh juice (whether it is a juicer or a grater) does not affect the healthiness, so you can prepare it in any way.

  1. Fresh juices should not be consumed on an empty stomach, best of all, between meals.
  2. You should drink the juice immediately after preparation, preferably through a straw.
  3. Fresh juices with a high content of organic acids should not be consumed by people with digestive tract problems.
  4. Fruit juices are richer in sugar and vitamins, while vegetable juices are richer in mineral salts.
  5. The acids contained in freshly squeezed juices can affect the condition of tooth enamel and cause tooth decay, so it is recommended to rinse your mouth with plain water after drinking them.
  6. Fresh juices should be diluted with water in a 1:1 ratio, and 50 g of vegetable oil should be added to juices from red, yellow, and orange vegetables.
  7. Since juices give you energy, it is better to invigorate your body in the morning.
