Fresh shrimp from the oven

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg shrimp(s), fresh, class 0 or jumbo
  • 1 lemon(s), juice
  • some olive oil
  • Salt
  • ½ bunch dill, finely chopped
  • 125 g cream cheese
  • 2 tsp cornstarch or sauce thickener

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Rice goes well with it, especially Basmati

Remove the head and intestines from each shrimp and rinse thoroughly under running water. Place them in an ovenproof dish and sprinkle with lemon (more or less to taste), oil, salt, and dill. Bake in a preheated oven (180 degrees Celsius, 350 degrees F) for 15-20 minutes. Then remove them from the dish with a ladle and pour the still-watery sauce into a small saucepan. I let it boil, while I add the Philadelphia and the starch, and continue cooking until the sauce thickens. Remove from the heat, add the shrimp, and serve. This goes very well with rice, especially basmati rice.
